Carolina Military Academy
This is a new page that I have added so that I could share with you stories about having;
"Lunch With A Cadet",
Every now and then myself or others have the opportunity to have Lunch with one or more of our fellow classmates and I like to pass along those, stories & photos to everyone. I usually put these in our monthly newsletters but in order to make them available to everyone all the time and easy to find I decided to give these stories and photos their own page. I hope that you enjoy them.
I plan to get together whenever I can with all of the cadets that now live near me in South Carolina and North Carolina. Anyone in this area please contact me so that we can schedule a lunch meeting soon after the new year. rjennings2553@gmail.com. 843-450-5800
Lunch With A Cadet # 9 - 15 Feb 2011 - Smithfield Chicken 'N Bar-B-Q, Laurinburg NC
On a sunny day in February some old friends and classmates met for lunch, it was the brain child of Cadet Ed Dunn our CMA Alumni Association Secretary/Treasurer (for life) (lol). He said that it would be nice to see some of our CMA cadet friends. So I sent out and email invitation (for this secret meeting) to everyone on our CMA email list to invite them to join us if they could. On hand was (myself) Randy Jennings, Ed Dunn, Andy Ray, Lee Johnson, Leo Fuller, Cal Humbert, & Frank Lea. We talked about old times and looked at photo's on Andy's and Randy's new Apple I-Pad. Talked about the great crowd and how good it was to see everyone at the Maxton Regional Reunion. We talked about the upcoming CMA 2011 Annual Reunion, we had some good camaraderie and some great fried chicken and barbeque, as you can tell by the photo below none of us needed any more fried food.

Lunch With A Cadet # 10 - March 6, 2011 - Waffle House - North Augusta, SC
Patsy and I were returning from a trip to Atlanta GA to see the grandkids, We had made a call on the way down on Friday to a certain CMA 1963 Cadet by the name of Marion "Jeep" Whaley (you know the other CMA 1st string Quarterbacks) I did not know that a football team needed so many quarterbacks. Early Sunday morning before I had time for coffee, my phone rang and it was "Jeep" confirming that he was available for coffee on our way back through Augusta and would be glad to meet us. I pulled into the parking lot of the Waffle House off SC exit #1 and a white SCE&G pickup pulled in behind me. We got out of the car and sure enough there was "Jeep" getting out of the truck. We were able to spend about 45 min. talking about all of our mutual CMA cadet friends, who we have been in touch with, who has been attending the reunions. I learned that he has 4 children and 10 grandkids, that along with his cushy job at SCE&G keeps him pretty busy. He said that his brother Bill (a CMA faculty member and coach) was well and living in Greenwood SC. Jeep said that he would try to come to the reunion this May in Myrtle Beach. I sent the photo below to old Shark in Charleston, and he said that he was having trouble recognizing "Jeep" from this photo.
