Regional Reunions
This & That
Hi Everyone
Well your CMA Alumni Association Board of Directors were out in full force at the Raleigh Regional Reunion. We had a small crowd but everyone was happy to see each other. We were sorry that more of the Raleigh area cadets were not able to attend. Sherri and I as well as Randy and Patsy were able to have dinner the night before with Benny Weathers CMA 1963/64, click on the link below to see the photos. We would also like to thank our loyal CMA reunion attendee's some of which have not missed a CMA reunion yet. Their attendance at these events go a long way to encourage the new attendee's to join us at our annual reunion at Myrtle Beach. If you have not been to one of our Regional Reunions please make it a priority in the future. It is really nice to see these guys again after over forty years
We hope to see a large crowd at the Maxton NC Regional Reunion though, Randy tells me that we have 56 cadets, faculty, and spouses signed up for Maxton. The Maxton Regional Reunion is scheduled for Saturday, October 16, 2010, at the Maxton Freight House at 11:00 AM, don't miss out on this 1st Maxton Regional Reunion. We are planning to have Jane from the Maxton Historical Society Museum at the reunion and we hope to have her open the museum during our visit so that you can see the CMA historical display at the museum.
We hope to see you in Maxton, and don't forget Frank & Jo Ann's Gala Party on Saturday after the reunion. Take care and we will see you soon.

Hi Fellow Cadets
I had the opportunity to visit and have dinner with another cadet this month in Murrells Inlet SC, Patsy and I had dinner with John Myers of Rockingham NC a CMA Cadet in 1965/66. We met him and his daughter Layla and his grandson Nicholas at the Dead Dog Saloon. Check out the photos by clicking on the link below.

I am sorry to inform you that we lost 2 former CMA cadets this week, We lost Michael Charles Hoover of Hickory NC a post graduate student in 1967 and John R Bowels Jr. of Fayetteville NC a student in 1967/68/69 graduating in 1969. Maxton NC Regional Reunion
It has come to my attention that we should change the address of where the checks should be sent for the Maxton Reunion. It was pointed out that we should have the checks sent to a Post Office Box. I have added that address below and on the information sheet for the reunion. If you have signed up for the Maxton Regional Reunion and have not sent in your check please send the $ 7.00 per person for the meal to the address listed below. If you have already sent you check, thank you.

It is looking like we will have a great gathering of cadets, spouses and faculty and staff members in Maxton, Click on the "Confirmed Maxton Attendee's" blue button in Mike's section to see who is confirmed. I would like to remind everyone that has registered to please notify us as soon a you can if for some reasons your plans change and you are unable to attend.
I talked to Jim Rion and he told me that a few of his classmates from the 1967/68/69 era are getting together to come, we encourage anyone that is in touch with their old classmates to call them and get them to the event.
Peter Wakker in Raleigh last week said that he would make a few calls to his old classmates from the 69/70 era and Charles Leeuwenburg from the 70/71 era would do his best to get to Maxton. Why don't we have a contest and see which class can get the most cadets to attend, we can have a special surprise and a group photo that will be displayed on the home page of our website for 1 year. Who is up to the challenge.
I plan to take a few weeks off of my CMA Duties and relax and get ready for the Maxton Regional, let me hear from you because if I don't hear from you by you registering for the Maxton Reunion you will sure hear from me.
